Part of a Tryptic (See, Hear, Speak no evil)
Inspired by the Windrush scandal where there was a denial of reality. The Campanula flower symbolising gratitude, support, consistency, and everlasting love. The conflicting relationship of the Windrush generation with the adopted homeland, underpinned by the flowers being a thing of beauty, a direct contrast with reality.
Each piece is in purple a long-held symbol of royalty, representing the dignity of those impacted.
Shug Avery said in the movie 'Colour Purple' I think it annoys God when we walk past the colour purple and don't notice it.
